Abstract

U radu je analizirana tematika kratkih strojnica u urbanom ratovanju. Konkretno je riječ o
specifičnostima urbanog ratovanja, ali i njegovoj povezanosti s kratkim strojnicama. Što se tiče
kratkih strojnica, analizirana je povijest njihovog nastanka, vremenski razvoj, trenutni položaj u
oružanim snagama diljem svijeta i potencijalni slijed događaja u budućnosti. Sve to se odnosi i
na vojsku Republike Hrvatske i njenu opremu na tom području. Uspoređene su i kratke strojnice
s drugim vrstama oružja koja su im najsličnija. Također, analizirana su specifična streljiva i
konstrukcijska rješenja korištena kroz povijest, a koja se s razlogom koriste unutar urbane
bojišnice i kratkih strojnica.

Abstract (english)

This paper examines the topic of submachine guns in urban warfare. Specifically, the
peculiarities of urban warfare are elaborated, along with warfare's connection to submachine
guns. The origin, the history, and the development of submachine guns are discussed, together
with their current position within the armed forces around the world, paying special attention to
the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia. The potential future development is proposed, and
submachine guns are compared to other types of weapons that appear most similar to them. Also,
specific ammunition and construction solutions used throughout history, which have been
legitimately adopted on the urban battlefield and in the submachine guns, are analyzed.
