Abstract

Diplomski rad bavi se konceptom duboke operacije gdje se nastoje prikazati ishodišta samog
koncepta, povijesne okolnosti i razloge zbog kojeg je nastao te koji su razlozi početnog
neuspjeha u primjeni prve dvije godine Drugog svjetskog rata na istočnom ratištu i eventualnog
uspjeha operacije Bagration kao najboljeg primjera koncepta u praksi. Rad će se doticati i
razvoja ruske operativne razine ratovanja te koncepta maskirovke ili obmane koji je pridonio
uspjehu sovjetskih ratnih operacija.

Abstract (english)

The master’s thesis is focused on the development of the deep operations concept where it will
explore its historical origins, the historical background and reasons why it was developed. The
thesis also describes the reasons why this concept failed in action in the first two years of World
War 2 on the Eastern Front and why it eventually succeded in operation Bagration. The
development of russian operational art and the concept of maskirovka or deception which also
contributed to the success of soviet operations will also be explored.
